Revision

All we are
Is a scrap of paper
Filled with the thoughts, deeds
Dreams, hopes, and relationships
Of other pages of paper
Like us.

The only thing that separates us
From animals of this world
Is the remarkable ability to rewrite this paper
Out of our own free will.
God gives us grammar and spelling rules,
He being the one that will grade our papers.

The existence we write of
Is open to us,
All of its different experiences, standards,
Customs, cultures, ideals
Open for us to write about.
However, God wishes us to write
According to one style
Because it will show the true extent of our writing abilities.

Most weren’t taught this style,
And therefore, can’t make the best grade they could have,
Even if taught about the style.
Of course, all work written must be fit for his school,
Or erased and rewritten.

And that is what life is:
We must be able to write the best paper possible
With the little lead we have,
Along with an unlimited eraser,
Although some flaws and misspellings in our paper
May be harder to erase than others.

Remember that stopping
Before you’re finished, before the time is up,
Is the worst way to end your paper.
To write as much as you can before the time is up,
Is the best way to write. You can’t decide how much pencil Or how much time you have
To write with, but
This grade will decide
Much more than your average essay.

So take to the paper,
And start writing,
Rewrite yourself again and again
To make yourself flawless and perfect,
For the time you have to write only lasts so long.
There is no time for you to write yourself wrong.

It's a poem that I thought of while thinking of life/my religion as well as procrastinating an essay last semester. The preview I thought was representative of life because the tabernacle and some of my family are in it. The roof of that building's a beautiful place. Anyway, read on. ^^
